Find your most cost efficient pump solution

Use the Energy Saving section to find out how much money you can save with Flygt Experior™ or other Flygt pump solutions, compared to your current pump system.

To make the complete cost calculations of your pump system, continue with the Life Cycle Cost (LCC) calculator section. The LCC formula used in this tool, is the industry standard formula for LCC calculations.

Default values are based on average global values. Would you have exact values, simply replace the default values.

Static head/total head

The pump system characteristics are described by giving the ratio between the system's static head and total head. A system with a lower ratio will give more energy savings with SmartRun™.

a: static head = 30m/ft b: total head = 100m/ft Ratio: Static head/total head = 30/100 = 30%

2. Initial cost purchase price (Cic)

The initial costs will usually include the following items excluding the pump and control panel cost:
- engineering
- purchase order administration
- testing and inspection
- inventory of spare parts
- training
- auxiliary equipment

Total pump cost

Pump system A $
Pump system B $

Control panel cost

Control panel cost includes cost for drive, supervision and control cabinet.

3. Installation and
comissioning cost (Cin)

Installation and commissioning costs can include the following:
- foundation (design, preparation, concrete and reinforcing, etc.)
- setting and grouting of equipment on foundation
- connection of process piping, electrical wiring and instrumentation
- provisions for flushing or “water runs”
- performance evaluation at start-up.

4. Energy cost (Ce)

Energy costs include calculated energy cost for system operation, including pump driver and controls.

5. Operation cost (Co)

Operation costs are labor costs related to the normal operation of the pumping system, not including energy and maintenance.

Annual labor cost

Pump system A $/year
Pump system B $/year

6. Maintenance and repair
costs (Cm)

The maintenance and repair costs depend on the time and frequency of maintenance, cost of materials and other fixed costs. Maintenance and repair costs include both planned and unplanned maintenance. Unplanned maintenance usually occurs when the pump stops due to clogging.

Pump maintenance per year (planned cost)

Pump system A $
Pump system B $

Sump cleaning cost per year (planned cost)

Pump system A $
Pump system B $

Pump stops per year (unplanned cost)

This value is based on experience from the field. Since this estimated value depends alot on local conditions fill in your accurate value instead if known, to get a more accurate calculation.

Pump system B

Man hour per maintenance (unplanned cost)

Total number of man hour, note that it often is two people for a call out.
Pump system A h
Pump system B h

Fixed cost per maintenance (unplanned cost)

For example costs for spare parts, transportation, suction truck.
Pump system A $
Pump system B $/year

7. Downtime cost (Cs)

Downtime costs are linked to unexpected downtime and lost production.

Downtime hours per year

Pump system A h/year
Pump system B h/year

Cost per downtime hour

Pump system A $
Pump system B $

8. Environmental cost (Cenv)

Environmental costs are the costs of contaminant disposal during the lifetime of the pumping system. Environmental contamination can include overflowing of the station and costs for environmental inspection.

Environmental cost per year

Pump system A $/year
Pump system B $/year

9. Decomissioning/
disposal cost (Cd)

Decommissioning/disposal costs usually include disposal of pump and auxiliary services as well as restoration of the local environment.

Decomissioning cost

Pump system A $
Pump system B $
